Evolution
Of course, the first book to read should be the original The Origin of Species (by means of natural selection) by Charles Darwin (the word 'on' is not used in the title and the term 'survival of the fittest' did not appear before the 6th print) . But as an introductionary start I found the intro on talkorigins.org also very good to read...Recommended!
