we were just having a coffee...
Sunday 1800 hours. We already had something to eat and decided to have a coffee. I decided on the former
haarlemmermeer train station in Amsterdam West. I knew it when the restaurant/bar was called Prins H (now it is called Macy). It is a
really nice looking building in early art deco style. We were wondering when it was built and asked the bartender. He turned to a couple sitting there. They were living on top of the station and are both involved in the
tram museum which is connected to the station and has its hangars and workshops behind the station. To make a short story long... they showed us the inside of the old station and he showed us also the hangars with about 20-25 trams from as early as 1906. It was an unexpected but absolutely great experience. Highly recommended. Read the website, they start again at eastern with riding the old trams.
